Praying The Rosary In Groups

A while back I included a form that allows participants to indicate that they prayed the Holy Rosary in a group. All you have to do is submit the number in the group.

Today, I received a submission that a group of 21 prayed the Holy Rosary. How exciting!

Here are just a few examples of some possible groups.

Your family.
Your friends.
A classroom.
A youth group.
Those brought together to pray for a loved one in need.

I just wanted to share the idea with everyone.

The record day for rosaries prayed included one such group. Maybe today we will set a new record.

Finally, if you purchased a Scriptural Rosary book from the store and are now using the book more often than the site. That's great. What I'm wondering is this. Should those rosary prayers be included in our count to reach 100,000?

I'm thinking yes. The Scriptural Rosary books are a big part of the success of our mission.

Thanks to all that have supported the site with their purchases!

Reaching 100,000 Rosaries Prayed

On November 18, I added a poll to help determine how many unique individuals were utilizing the scriptural rosary website. At the time of this posting, 40 unique individuals have submitted that they have prayed at the site.

I thought I would share a little math today.

If we have 40 participants and each prayed the scriptural rosary every day, we would pray 280 rosaries each week. It would take 40 people praying one rosary every day 6.87 years to reach 100,000 rosaries prayed. Based on last week, it will take 15.14 years to reach 100,000.

If all 40 participants committed to getting just one new person to agree to pray the scriptural rosary each day, while they themselves committed to one rosary per day, we would cut the required time in half to 3.44 years! That's right. If 80 people pray the rosary every day it only takes 3.44 years to reach 100,000.

I am very grateful to all that have been participating at the site. I hope that the scriptural rosary has brought you all closer to God. If so, please share your enthusiasm and blessings with others. Not so much that we will hit a number. No... the number is just a target to keep me motivated on the mission. The mission to spread devotion to the powerful prayer given to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary.

That mission is accomplished whenever more people pray and whenever those that do pray choose to pray it more often.

Finally, to those that have stories to share, please consider sharing them on this blog. It is very easy for me to designate you as an author. You will then be able to post on this blog. Please don't immediately dismiss the idea. You never know if your story will help change someone's life. You won't have to post every day. Just whenever the Spirit moves you. I thank you all for considering this request.

God Bless!

Feast Of The Immaculate Conception

Just a reminder. Tomorrow, 12/8/08 is a Holy Day of Obligation. This feast celebrates that Mary was conceived without sin. Sounds like a great special reason for praying a rosary today. If you already pray the rosary on a daily basis, maybe you could pray two, or, if you can make the time, why not pray all four mysteries at www.scripturalrosary.org. Spend an hour with Jesus and His mother on this special feast day honoring the Holy Mother of God.

Scriptural Rosary Site Approaching 5,000 Rosaries Prayed.

Published in January 2008, the Scriptural Rosary site will surpass 5,000 rosaries prayed. Thanks to all that have participated with their prayerful support.

The site is now near the top of the page for both Yahoo and Google searches for "scriptural rosary". However, when the search is for "rosary" or "holy rosary", we don't do so well.

That is part of the reason for creating this blog. My hope is that all participants will make it a daily habit to visit the blog. If you do, we should see this blog move up in the rankings. The goal is to have the blog reach the first page whenever "rosary" or "holy rosary" are searched. Then the blog can direct new people to the scriptural rosary site.

This is a great way to support our mission to spread devotion to the Most Holy Rosary of Our Blessed Mother. Best of all, it costs you nothing! Costs me nothing too, it's a win/win situation!

Please feel free to post comments. I will monitor all comments before they will be permitted to post. Due to the nature of this site, I want to make sure that no one can post anything of a malicious nature. I'm sure you understand.

Thanks again for your support. I'll keep you posted on our progress.

The Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

Contemplation on the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary is the part that I found hardest while I grew up. Indeed, this is probably the main reason I did not pray this holy prayer very often.

The image on the left is one of my favorites. It reminds me of the 5th Mystery in the Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of Light.

The original rosary consisted of 15 mysteries contemplating the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some people do not recognize at first, that the life of Jesus is what the Holy Rosary is all about. When prayed properly and often, it becomes very evident that the Most Holy Rosary of Our Blessed Mother is indeed, centered around the Life of Jesus and His mother.

I like to think of it as a walk with His mother as she shares with us the story of her Son's life.

My favorite way to pray this prayer is called a Scriptural Rosary. I invite you now to take a tour of the site that I have published in an effort to help more people to experience the joy and power of this Holy Prayer.
