Audio Rosaries

The audio rosaries did not publish correctly to the site on 9/8/11. Unfortunately, I was on vacation and did not return until 9/13/11. The audio rosaries are now working properly.

Many thanks to all that emailed me to make sure I understood there was a problem at the site. Please continue to do so if you notice a problem in the future.

New Record In Sight This Month

First, no one ever responded to the group of 2000+ so I choose to ignore that email as a mistake and none of those rosaries are included in the total.

Even so, with one day left in August, it appears we will break the previous record of 2030 rosaries prayed in one month! Today's count stands at 2000, so we will only need 31 rosaries prayed today... we have been averaging over 60 prayed each day.

I am very grateful for all of your support. Please continue to help spread the word about the website and its mission. We keep this up, I just may be able to change the goal back to 1,000,000 rosaries prayed in my lifetime.

Group of 2,270?

Today, Sunday, 8/14/11 I received a notice that a group of 2,270 people prayed a rosary. I'm hoping the one that submitted that number will email me to confirm that I have it right. That would be wonderful but it is far greater than any other group that has ever been submitted. I just want to make sure it wasn't a key punch error.

On Vacation

I just want to let you know that I will be on vacation beginning 6/30/11 and will return on 7/6/11. Any orders from the store will not be processed until I return on 7/6/11. I also will not be able to update the prayer count while I am away. I'll get everything caught up when I return.

Sorry!

I added the facebook "Like" and "Send" buttons to three pages and it caused some links not to work. It's almost midnight and I just realized the problem. It is now fixed, all links should work again.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Facebook is popular and it does seem like it could be a great way to increase awareness of the site so more people might pray. If you use facebook... please use the like button to help make more people aware of the site and its mission.

The Facebook Like Button

I received a suggestion today through the blog that I need a facebook page. There actually is a page for the site. If you have a facebook account just search for scriptural rosary on facebook and you will find it.

In the meantime, I have added the facebook like button to a few pages on the site. If it works properly, you click on it and get the option to post that you like "www.scripturalrosary.org" on your facebook page.

The "send" button allows you to instantly tell others about the site.

Please try them and let me know if they are working properly.

Pray The Rosary On Good Friday!

Pat, one of our rosary participants for a long time emailed me the following suggestion. I think it is a great idea and I hope you all participate and help spread the word.

A friend in my Rosary Group shared this great idea. Imagine what might happen if every Catholic in the world would pray a Rosary on the same day! We have an example in October of 1573, when Europe was saved from the invasion of the mighty Turkish fleet, by the praying of the Rosary by all Christians!

So, on Good Friday, let us all pray a Rosary for peace in the world and the return of moral values into our communities. If possible, please pray your Rosary between noon and 3:00pm.

Also, please e-mail this message to every Catholic on your address list, and ask them to pass it along to every Catholic on their lists. Let's unite in praying one of the most powerful prayers in existence, for these intentions, on one of the holiest days in our Church year.

We Break A Record Again!

Week ending 4/2/11 the record for most rosaries prayed in a week is set at 680.

Also, today I received an email from the developer of the android app CatholicOne. Today he linked www.scripturalrosary.org to his app so that his customers may pray an online audio rosary. He tells me the app will be compatible with the iphone soon. There are currently over 150,000 people that have downloaded his app. If you have an android, you may want to take a look at the "CatholicOne" app.

Three Records Set In March 2011

The record for most rosaries prayed in one week was set week-ending 3/26/11 at 459. Guess what... we've already broken that record this week and there are two more days left!

The record for most rosaries prayed in a day was set on 3/30/11 at 163.

The record for most rosaries prayed in a month was set in March 2011 at 2030. That beat the previous record set last March by a whopping 437 rosaries!

Please, please continue to pray and spread the word with friends and acquaintances.

I'm advertising www.rosarysite.com on google. It is getting us some new visitors too and hopefully will help us rank on the first page for searches for "rosary" and the like.

Try F11 With Version 2 Mysteries

If you like to see the picture while you pray then try version two of each mystery and hit "F11" on your keyboard before you begin. This will give you the full screen. To go back to "normal", just hit "F11" again.

I received a submission from a group of 82 that prayed the scriptural rosary today. That is so wonderful! It also means we have set a new daily record and are on our way to break the weekly record set last week.

Monthly Record Broken!

There are still three days left in March but the record of 1593 rosaries prayed last March has been broken!

Check back on 4/1/11 to see the total for the new record.

Also, I've started advertising the new sister site, www.rosarysite.com. This is an effort to get ranked on google searches for terms like rosary, holy rosary, online rosary etc.

I did this originally for www.scripturalrosary.org and it is now ranked #1 on google, yahoo and other search engines for the term "scriptural rosary". However, we are nowhere to be found when you search for rosary, holy rosary, online rosary, etc.

One Week Record Is Broken!

Scroll down to the next post to read about the larger font in version 2 and why it has been changed.

This post is a "Congratulations To All" for helping us break the record for most rosaries prayed in one week. The old record was 423. The new record set last week is 459.

We've got five more days to beat the all time monthly record of 1593. Through 3/26/11 we've prayed 1489 rosaries. We need 105 to break the record. That's 21 per day so this record should fall.

Font Increased On Second Version

In order to assist those that need it, I have increased the font on the version 2 of the scriptural rosary. The first version uses font size 20. Version 2 uses font size 18. I could not make it quite as big and keep the picture on the side.

You may need to refresh each page if you want to use the larger font.

I had a request and I remembered that several others had expressed an appreciation for the larger font in the original version. I hope the change proves helpful.

Eleven Today Will Break A Record!

With 413 rosaries already prayed through Friday we need just 11 more today to break the weekly record of 423. Saturdays are not the best day but 11 doesn't seem like it will be a problem.

To break the record for a month (1593), we need to pray 151 more rosaries with six more days to do it. That's right at 25 per day so it looks like a new monthly record will be set too.

If you haven't already, take a second one day and check out the guest book or the feedback section of the site. The mission of www.scripturalrosary.org is to enhance the experience for those that already pray the Holy Rosary and to encourage others to begin this devotion on a daily basis. It appears that at least to some degree, it is working!

Two Records May Be Broken!

We have an opportunity to set two records in rosaries prayed at www.scripturalrosary.org. The current record for rosaries prayed in one week is 423. Through Thursday, we have prayed 344 rosaries. It will take 80 more in the next two days to beat that record.

We've also prayed 1374 rosaries this month. The record for one month is 1593. We need 220 more prayed to beat the record and we have 7 days to accomplish this task.

The site was first published on 1/20/08. Back then I got excited when one rosary was prayed. It is extremely exciting to see so many take advantage of the website this month. I hope everyone is enjoying spending the time with Jesus and His mother.

Thanks For Your Support and Participation!

The rosary count in March appears to be on its way to a new monthly record. Thank you all for your prayers and support of the website and its mission.

If you haven't already noticed, there are four more scriptural rosaries to pray now. They are all easy to pray and the images depicting each mystery are larger. I hope you like them for a change in pace occasionally.

Please continue to spread the word about the site. The current goal is to have 100,000 rosaries prayed because of the site. The goal was originally 1,000,000 but that wasn't seeming very realistic at the rate it was going.

With your help and your prayers, maybe it still will happen.

New Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries Added

You may have to "refresh" the Beginning Prayers Page to see them but I have completed two new versions for the Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries. The new versions for the Illuminous and Glorious Mysteries will follow soon.

Lent Begins!

Just a reminder that today is Ash Wednesday. While you're trying to figure out what you plan to "give up" consider this... How about giving up 30 minutes a day to pray the Holy Rosary every day? It's just a thought.

My goal this season is to create another scriptural rosary with different scripture verses and different pictures to give you the chance for a change when you visit www.scripturalrosary.org. I'm going to try to create a format that allows you to see the picture or pictures representing each mystery throughout the 10 "Hail Marys". I'll try to have it finished before Holy Thursday.

Please keep me in your prayers during lent. I will do the same for you all.

Let's Break The Record In March

The prayer count is very good so far in February. Many groups, including one of 60, have contributed greatly. Of course, I am extremely grateful for those that come each week and perhaps every day to pray a rosary at the site.

Let's plan to break the record of 1593 set in March of 2010. We will need to average about 52 rosaries prayed each day in March. Please get the word out. Share the site with your friends. Perhaps your priest will post the site in the church bulletin. If you use facebook, post the link.

The Blessed Virgin has promised that "All those that propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities."

I hope everyone is discovering a peace and spirit of hope from their prayers. I love this wonderful prayer from Our Blessed Mother. It is a fantastic way to spend time with Jesus and his mother.

I just turned 50 and had a physical. The doctor ordered a heart stress test and it is scheduled for tomorrow, 2/2/11 at 9:15am.

Advertise The Website

January is almost over and we are averaging about 47 rosaries prayed each day. The site has been up since 1/20/2008. It seems like the number could be higher. You can help.

Please tell your friends. Give them a call, shoot them an email or ask them to pray a rosary with you. Another good way to spread the word is in Church Bulletins. Ask your priest to look at the site and see if he will mention it in your church bulletin. If he does, let me know with the form on the church bulletin page and I will recognize your church for their participation and support.

Rosary Count for 1/13/11

The server had a problem yesterday and no one could use the forms to add rosaries prayed to our count. This included those that prayed in a group.

It looks like the problem is fixed.

Please send me an email if you received an error page yesterday when trying to submit your prayer yesterday and I will correct the count for 1/13/11.
